Tamale Trolley

Tamale Trolley Food Truck

About Us

One of Memphis’ oldest and best established trucks, Tamale Trolley features handcrafted tamales, small batch ice creams and ices in unique tropical flavors, and Los Trompos–meat grilled on our huge rotating vertical spits. We grind our own masa from new corn, grilling each tortilla and flatbread to order. Tamale Trolley features a variety of fresh salsas and we concentrate on flavors that edge toward Mexican-Mediterranean fusion, a cuisine we call “Medi-Mexi”.

Tamale Trolley is a slick, professional truck with a clean and glossy presentation. We have a quiet hidden generator and we’re fully self-contained (no tow vehicle). We pride ourselves on keeping our commitments.

We’re not accepting any more dates during the 2016 season. Contact by email only please.

The new menu and re-branding is about done. We'll do a couple test gigs next week and then deploy in earnest. Tamale Trolley is no more--I hope you'll follow Kebab Food Truck and we hope you'll visit very soon.

Went to Lowes in Cordova to get some fittings and what do I see: The JoyRide parked on a side street. Ballin' cuban sandwich for lunch FTW!!!

Our friends RAWK'n Grub Food Truck will be back at Cooper-Young Farmer's Market tomorrow morning with this menu which is frankly over the top. There are no other food trucks in Memphis who put this much effort into breakfast, period.

Hey there,

Well, our menu change is almost complete. Tamale Trolley no longer exists, we won't be doing gourmet Mexican any longer. As soon as our new vinyl gets here we'll be Kebab Food Truck, specializing in Mediterranean food, primarily doner kebab. We expect to vend mostly on the St. Jude campus this spring and summer.

We're at St. Jude til 4. No Mexican food, just the frozen dessert cart today. Small batch lemon is the best bet I think.
